QB Quinn to visit Jets

The Jets will continue their quest to find a new backup for quarterback Mark Sanchez with a visit from free agent Brady Quinn on Friday, according to a source.

Quinn was a first-round pick of the Browns in 2007 out of Notre Dame. He spent the last two years with the Broncos. The Jets are also considering Lions free agent Drew Stanton, whose visit began last night and will continue today.

The Jets also are trying to find a new starting safety. Reggie Nelson, who spent the last two seasons with the Bengals, will visit today, according to a source.

The Jets had interest in safety Brandon Meriweather and had him scheduled to visit yesterday, but he signed with the Redskins.

The Jets also have Raiders free agent wide receiver Chaz Schilens visiting last night and today.
