The Catholic Public Domain Version of the Bible is a translation of the Sacred Bible, Sixtus V and Clement VIII Latin Vulgate edition. The Challoner Douay-Rheims Version of the Bible was used as a guide in translating the Latin Bible into more contemporary English. The Latin Vulgate is also included for reference.
This is book is the "electronic book edition" of the Catholic Public Domain Version packaged with additional material for easy electronic navigation.
Included is the full New Testament and a small collection of books of the Old Testament (Pentateuch, Davidian Psalters, and several other books classified as Wisdoms). Also included in the English section are footnotes for Catholic tradition, parables and various other references. The Latin section contains footnotes from the translator.
